A very rare steppe xeric loess species endemic to
Dobrudja and Tracia, in Bulgaria and Romania (seemingly
encountered in only three localities, one of
them near Cobadin, Constanta county, Romania being
probably lost and was last seen in the XIXth century). The single small locality from Romania known nowadays is
located in a steppe grassland area along the west shores of Lake
Techirghiol (dr. Marius Fagaras, 2007).
Pictures from outside Romania, in
Bulgaria in the unique locality there near Plovdiv.

The synonymation of Achillea thracica Velenovsky
(Thracia, Bulgaria) and Achillea millefoliata Grecescu
(Dobrogea, Romania) is based only on the characters of the
surface of the leaves (glabrous, somehow lustrous and with glandular
punctuations). However the iconic phragments representing this
species from Cobadin (Constanta county, Romania) in Flora
Reipublicae Popularis Romanicae vol. 9 (see below) seem to represent
a quite different plant. Therefore we rise here a question mark in
regarding this problem.
